Question: Infant Thrush Question?
My son has Thrush in his mouth. I know its a fungal infection and all that and we have medicine that’s supposed to clear it up, but my mother states that Thrush is painful to the baby. I was wondering if this is true. Anyone have experience with this? I know a lot about when horses get Thrush, does anyone know if its kind of the same thing?

How to get rid of Systemic Candida?

Question: How to get rid of Systemic Candida?
I’ve done a lot of research and I know I have Candida. I have it on my penis even! I used to drink alcohol for a year straight each day when i was 16, now im 18. Could alcohol cause Candida? I think so because it feeds off yeast and sugar (alcohol). How do I get rid of it? I feel like not speaking to anyone and just taking painkillers to feel normal because Candida makes me tired, confused, anxious and other shit. Help me out

Answer by Dan
Have you seen a doctor? If you truly had/have systemic Candida that is a medical emergency and you need to go to the doctor! If it is only on your skin you can use some antifungals but any disease that is that advanced is best treated by a doctor.

Eliminating Candida overgrowth.?

Friday, June 20th, 2014

Question: Eliminating Candida overgrowth.?
I recently went and saw a naturopath about my health because my skin is prone to many conditions such as Keratosis Pilaris, Acne, Ezcema and Ingrown Hairs (ect).

Looking at the other symptoms from my intake there is a strong chance I have a gut overgrowth of Candida which is causing most of my skin problems.

I have been given a list to follow for alkaline foods vs acidic foods and I am supposed to consume a low sugar diet with no gluten, dairy or yeast and it is supposed to be prefabricated up mostly of Alkaline foods to stop the Candida from growing and spreading. I also had the current pleasure of reading a certain acid in Coconut oil (caprylic acid) supposedly “pokes holes” through yeast/fungi and kills it… including Candida, so I was considering taking a regularly dose of Coconut oil to help purge it from my system.

Is this a viable way to help speed the detoxification and remove Candida or does anybody have and superior ideas to add/try while I am killing it?

Thank you. ouo

Candida overgrowth is what naturopaths call it.
It is non-desseminated Candidiasis by physicians and scientists. Or Mycelial Dysbiosis.
It is not ‘overgrowth’ it is morphing, that is the yeast Candida Albicans changes into the pathogenic fungus Candida Albicans in best conditions, lots of sugar, a hormonal change (puberty, the pill, pregnancy, pumping iron steroids chemotherapy, etc…). The fungus can ’stick’ to your gut wall, and annoy your immune system to pump out histamine, which is a direct cause of ezcema. Acne and KP are often a deficient of vitamin A,leading to a misbalanced hormone assay. but that is the short version.
The caprylic acid theory is unproven. Not saying it does not help, just no studies.
The most effective treatment is 2 consecutive courses of Nystatin oral drops, 5 drops 4 times a day for 28 days. You need a prescription, and you need the drops, not tablets, and not one a day: The higher plasma level has to be maintained.
10,000 IU of vitamin A regularly works too, and a teaspoon of cod liver or flax seed oil (probably in the same way as caprylic acid is working antedotally) with each meal.
It is no good doing this ‘a bit’. It won’t work. You have to do the whole program, to kill the Candida and to reset the immune system.
At the end of 28 days of Atkins, Nystatin and vitamin A (which continue for 90 days) begin taking probiotics daily.
No soda, no candy, no sugar, in fact, just go on the Atkins diet for 4 weeks.

Is oral thrush contagious?

Wednesday, June 18th, 2014

Question: Is oral thrush contagious?
I had my wisdom teeth taken out on friday the 6th. And now I think that I could possibly be developing oral thrush. Im not positive, but im not really sure what else it could be. Whatever it is is not severe, it is only on my tongue. It is sort of a grayish white color, and it looks sort of like carpet. Its more concentrated around the center line of my tongue. It doesn’t injured at all. I have done a tiny research and nearly each sight I have looked at is somewhat different than the last. I am on an antibiotic, which from what I have read is one of the causes of thrush. I started noticing it last night when I got home. I kissed my boyfriend on the lips last night and I want to make sure he wont get it. We weren’t making out, it was just a good bye kiss. From what I have read, and I don’t know if it is true or not, thrush is only contagious if the mortal comes in contact with the fungi… He didn’t come in contact with it. But if I do happen to have it, and if it is contagious, will he get it?

Best answer:

Answer by RangerOfTheNorth
First of all, it’s not contagious. Oral thrush or Candida is the result of overgrowth of yeast cells in the mouth or other body areas (like intestines, vagina, and others…usually a result of pH imbalance or immune disorder (like HiV). Men can get it too, usually in the form of “jock itch” due to poor cleaning after exercise or bad hygiene.

It also occurs frequently after long use of antibiotics, which kill off competing bacteria and grant the yeast to flourish.

The best thing to do is to replace the bacteria with yogurt (intestinal) or capsules. Look for “Lactobacillus”, a kind of good bacteria you should have in your digestive tract anyway.

Natural remedies for an overgrowth of candida albicans include the following ~

Oil of Oregano ~ antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and antiparasitic ….. it has strong antioxidant and antiflammatory effects and is quite effective in eliminating Candida ……. not regular oregano but a wild form (wild mountain oregano, Origanum vulgare species) ….. your local health food store might be ready to help you with this one… Oil of Oregano has no side effects and oregano is compatible with any other natural cure or prescription drug……. the active compounds in Oil of Oregano also act as free immoderate scavengers thus prevent further tissue ruin while encouraging healing.

Grapefruit Seed Extract ~ Go to your local health food store and ask the resident naturopath his/her advice on Grapefruit seed extract.. they don’t usually charge for off the cuff advice and are more than willing to share their knowledge ….. Grapefruit seed extract is a multipurpose (broad spectrum) compound that is currently being used in humans and animals alike to safely fight many types of internal and external infections caused from parasites (single and multi-celled), viruses, bacteria and fungi.

Grapefruit seed extracts biggest benefit is due to it’s multipurpose (broad spectrum) effect. It is effective even if the causes of the infections are known, unknown or misdiagnosed. By eliminating a wide range of hazardous pathogens grapefruit seed extract actually enhances the immune system.

Freshly crushed cloves of garlic blended throughout your green vegies and lentils or brown rice, beans, salads etc……. will also help enormously in eradicating parasites and fungus overgrowth….. garlic arre a powerfull natural antibiotic, antiparasitic, antifungal, antibacterial.

Ask at the health food store about other natural antifungals such as Colloidal Silver, Powerded Vitamin C with bioflavonoids, Olive leaf extract too………. ;0)

Read a book called “Complete Candida Yeast Guidebook” ~ Revised 2nd Edition by jeanne Marie Martin with Zoltan P.Rona, M.D… wonderful reading there for you.

And, of course, complete and total avoidance of any food or drink that contains yeast or sugar ……… fanatical classify reading or simply don’t consume from a package and prepare fresh fruit, vegies, rices, beans, lentils, some lean meats, organic nuts and seeds yourself ….. and drinking plenty of fresh filtered water …. hydrating yourself properly ….. some people find success by also eliminating natural sugars such as fruits and raw honey…… that’s the final route i had to go ….. eliminating all fruit sugars … even the low sugar ones like pears and strawberries ….. and raw honey for a while…..;0)

….. good health to you buddy and good luck.

peace baby

my sweety is 9 weeks old. everything first started in the folds and looked a raw. i tried treating it with parents choice creamy diaper rash ointment. when i used it she seemed to cry more like it was hurting her so i tried using pure petroleum jelly. now she has small bumps all over her bottom and i’m not sure which one it is…………

I think a yeast infc would cause more of a discharge and not bumps! I think ur baby has a rash and yes the oinment to me smells like soap and I envision that hurts/Burns!!! I always used ad ointment, it’s kore of a petroleum jelly based substance! Give the baby a bath with no soap and keep diaper off for a while to air her out
