    Hello –

    I haven’t had personal experience with this, however, a co-worker visits a Naturopathic Doctor and has been doing the following to combat yeast infections:

    Drink apple cider vinegar in the mornings with a bit of water, it warms up your digestive system. Also drink some 30 minutes prior to each meal.

    Place a peeled garlic clove into your vagina, being careful not to push it too deeply (you’ll want to get it back out.) The acidity of the garlic will reduce the local yeast.

    Definitely start taking some sort of Probiotic supplement if you haven’t already. It replenishes the good bacteria in your digestive system.

    Diet changes are also helpful – although I don’t have a current resource in mind, there are plenty of books on changing the acidity or alkalinity of your diet for your body type.

    There are a lot of great resources out there – check with your local Naturopath for support.

    To help regulate “bad yeast”…keep good bacteria in your body…try a probiotic like Jarro-Dophilus, which increases the good bacteria in your intestines…which is connected to everything else down there. Also, eating yogurt helps too.

    Candida is a bacterial fungus that lives in both men and women.

    More specifically called Candida Albicans, this fungus thrives in the digestive tract (as well as the vagina in women) and lives in harmony with acidic bacteria called Acidophilus.

    The acidophilus, being an acid regulates the Candida Albicans (a base).

    When people eat certain foods like complex sugars, the Candida Albican multiply and change the balance between the Candida and Acidophilus in the body.

    Suddenly, the acidophilus can no longer regulate the outnumbering Candida.

    This creates what is commonly known as Candida Overgrowth or a Yeast Infection.

    The symptoms (you may not experience all of them):
    - white cottage cheese-like discharge
    - some odor
    - dryness (can cause bleeding)
    - digestive problems
    - itchiness
    - soreness
    - burning urination
    - painful intercourse

    - drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber to flush the infection

    A Candida diet should consist of leafy greens, very little sugar, plenty of probiotics (found in yogurt and cottage cheese), drinking lots of water and eating plenty of fiber.
