Can a yeast infection be induced by having sex?

Question: Can a yeast infection be induced by having sex?
My partner and I have been sexually active since June and are experiencing some problems. He moved away in July, so we don’t have sex as often as we used to. We now do it each two weeks or so, but when we try to do it multiple times, I get yeast infection symptoms. This is the second time that it’s happened. It’s gotten so bad that the itching and soreness prevents me from having any kind of contact “down there.” Is this a yeast infection? Also, my partner and I have no STDs. Any help would be much appreciated.

yes it can. make sure you are going pee everytime after sex. the fluid from you and or him along with the heat of yourbody can cause them, I get one like clockwork if i dont pee afterwards

Did you use a condom? You may have a latex allergy. Try a non-latex condom and see if you notice a difference.

You need to contact a Gynecologist before diagnosing yourself or your symptoms..unless you’ve had a yeast infection before you can’t be certain that’s what it is..so to be on the safe side let your doctor diagnose you before using any vaginal creams.

are the itching and soreness the only thing you have or are you having a discharge at all? usually a discharge comes along with the yeast infection. the soreness and itching could also be from using lubricates and being to rough. You also could be having a reaction to the condoms (if your using). if it gets to the point where u just can’t take it anymore id make an apt to be sure and have them check you out.. best of luck

this could be a yest infection, you need to pee after every time you have sex (this cleans out all of the bacteria that could get in there) and make sure you clean yourself very good after wards and while your in the shower.

It is very common to have yeast infections or sometimes uti (urinary tract infection) when partners have sex multiple times in a short time. (I had it often during a long-distance relationship, with sex marathons once in 2 months, but never in a stable regular relationships).

Both of you may be affected, so both need to be checked, If it is yeast, there are simple and effective OTC creams and suppositories, but you need a diagnosis first. (If it is yeast, then next time it happens, you can just buy the creams on your own).
