Question: does a thrush muffler do anything performance wise to the car?

yeah, it adds some hp to the engine, but not a large amount, probably 15hp at best. what kind of automobile are you wnating toput one on?

    muffler on stock u will not notice the performance

    to get the performance u have to,

    1- upgrade the headers with wide pipe (2 inches)
    2- upgrade the pipes with wide pipes
    3- remove the catalytic analyzer

    and also upgrade the intake at least use a sport air filter on stock and it’s recommended to buy K&N or simota

    note; simota air filters do louder sound more than K&N but K&N has better performance…

    example
    K&N: +5 horsepower, sound 3/10
    Simota: +3 horsepower, sound 7/10
