Question: How do I cure my rectal yeast infection?
I’m pretty sure I got this from taking the antibiotics I have been taking. I am unsure if I should treat it somehow myself by using over the counter medications or home remedies, or if I should consult a doctor. I am nearly positive that this is what it is though based on other websites. I have all of the symptoms of a rectal yeast infection. any home cure suggestions? thanks!

The problem with home remedies, honey — even the ones that work — is that they should not be used until you have been seen by a doctor. So, yes, you need to go to a physician first. You can’t tell on your own whether the infection is due to a yeast or a bacteria (which would be much more likely in the anal area). You need to get an examination by a professional, and maybe a test as well.

Go to the doctor. Once she/he decides what is causing the infection, you can get a prescription. Then, if you want to try a home remedy, you can find them by a Google or Yahoo search. If the home cure works, fine. If not, you can always still fill the prescription.

Good luck, honey, and I hope this helps,

  1. Burhan Oni says:

Take a tampon and dip it in yogurt. Insert in the vagina, twice a day. Continue this remedy for an extra day after your symptoms go away. Make sure that you consult your doctor before you decide to use this yeast infection home treatment method as it is thought to be helpful only in cases of yeast infections and may actually aggravate a bacterial infection. A definite diagnosis is therefore essential before the method of Yeast Infection Treatment can be decided. However, yogurt can be included in a yeast infection diet or a bacterial infection diet to help control the infection. Yogurt is one of the most well known home remedies for vaginal yeast infection. Yogurt is especially useful in treating a Candida yeast infection and must be included in a Candida yeast infection diet.
