Question: is it ok to drink alcohol while taking yeast infection medicine?
I know it is never good to drink alcohol on any medication as it cancels out some medicine but it’s just an over the counter yeast infection medicine.

Hi Kelly,
Hopefully this answers your question. I really can’t think of any food or beverage more destructive for the candida patient than alcohol. The more resistant the patient is in wanting to give up all alcohol entirely (and I totally mean 100%) for at least 4 months to grant the digestive system to fully recover, the more likely it will be that alcohol is a major causative factor, and is continuing to underpin the yeast condition.

Take Care Peter

    Hi kelly,

Like the other user suggested it’s best to avoid alcohol during a yeast infection. All alcoholic drinks, especially wine and beer, use yeast/sugar in their fermenting process and if you’re having two or three beers after work, or a glass of wine or two a night you’re consistently adding to the amount of yeast in your body.
