Question: My baby is 3 weeks old with white patches in her mouth (thrush) and the physician gave her diflucan?
Since she was prescribed diflucan, is it ok to give her a tiny water and wipe her mouth with a warm towel or should I just let the medicine do its job?

I would just see how the meds do. Thrush is like a yeast infection sort of in the mouth and so warm towel and water isnt going to really help anything as the warmth and moisture are really what helps it thrive anyway

  1. Bassist B says:

Diflucan works fast and well. Don’t wipe her mouth, since removing the patches by force can cause pain and bleeding.

You can wash her mouth out, just don’t rub it or anything – might make it sore.
