Question: Oral thrush?
I’ve had oral thrush for more than 3 years. I’m scared that it might kill me. Have i had it for too long? I will get a treatment soon but I need to reasurred.
My grandma has it, so my mother has it, that’s why I have it.

The scary question is why do you have oral thrush? It happens, yes, but it’s most often seen in people with certain medical conditions like immune suppression or diabetes.

Thrushes can be treatedly easily with medication (fluconazole), but given the circumstances, I’d recommend you get a thorough check up if you haven’t had one lately.


Interesting that you have a familial history of oral candidiasis. It is important to locate what it is that predisposes you and your family towards having this condition, because like I mentioned earlier, there are some other health conditions that are associated with it. Again, I think you need to see a doctor, get the thrush treated, and then figure out what it is about you and your family that makes you prone to it.

The thrush isn’t likely to kill you. But whatever it is that is letting that thrush thrive needs to be addressed.
