Question: What happens to the male genitals after having sex with a female with a yeast infection?
I recently found out that I have a vaginal yeast infection and now my boyfriend is experiencing a tiny bit of itching on his genitals. Should we be concerned or is it from the yeast infection? Is there some kind of cream or medicine he can take for it?

Yup, men can develop thrush if they have sexual contact with a woman who is suffering from it.
The over the counter treatment is called Canesten and he can take either the pill version, the cream or both if he prefers – pretty much the same way you are treated.
If you dont have access to OTC meds then live yoghurt is a natural way of dealing with thrush. For him a condom full of it worn for several hours will help. Gross and very messy but remarkably effective!

Welcome to the world of sti’s. Yes, you probably gave him your yeast infection. And left untreated, he can give it right back to you. Both of you should get treated at the same time, and control yourselves until both of you are cured. In case you didn’t already know, using condoms will greatly reduce the risk of spreading diseases and infections to each other.

It’s pretty much been covered here already, but I would just like to correct my yoghurt obsessed colleague :P

You need BOTH over-the-counter canesten pill and the cream.

The cream makes the itching go away, but it doesn’t remove the infection, for that you need the pill as well.

Look for doctors, they can help you with problem like this. It’s curable.

Just don’t feel embarrass and face it.

He should apply plenty of vinegar to all his nether parts (including his anus) and specially to his glans, if it enters the meatus it will sting, but he should let it be,because fungi lodge in there, too. He should do it in the shower, so that he can wash it off after a minute or two.

If you have yeast infection, then your partner has a great chance of getting it as well. There are various treatments available for this. However, you have to visit a doctor and ask for medical help to better understand your condition and receive the best and proper treatment for you and your partner. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor about any concerns relating to your health.
