    anything that has antifungal properties would work best. i got rid of fungus by rubbing garlic on the affected area several times a day.

    you can also put yogurt on the yeast infection.

    make sure you are eating a healthy diet. lower your sugar intake, as this weakens the immune system and allows yeast to thrive. eat plenty of yogurt, fruit and veg…not too many carbs.

    hope this helps!

    Virgin coconut oil works well. You must get the cold expeller pressed kind that’s solid at room temperature. There’s a website that I go to for everything, http://www.earthclinic.com where people use natural remedies and then post their feedback so you can see what works for other people. Ok TMI warning: spread the coconut oil on a tampon and insert. Also take it internally. I like the taste and just eat spoonfuls of it, probably 2-5 a day. There’s an acid in it that kills yeast. Also B3 kills yeast well (that’s niacinimide NOT niacin) and avoiding sugar and white flour will help you too. I’ve also had relief by tying a clove of garlic up in stretchy gauze and shoving it up there overnight. But it can burn you so I’d go with the coconut oil first. By the way, coconut oil reduces your risk of heart disease if you eat it. There are so many benefits to it, but you must get the unprocessed virgin (sometimes marketed as extra virgin) kind. Good luck to you.

    They say tea tree oil help the irritation you open the capsule and put the oil around the vaginal opening. But it doesn’t cure it. You need some medicine for that.

    Things which can kill good pro-biotic bacteria include:

    * Anti-biotics
    * Birth Control Pills
    * Steroidal/hormonal drugs
    * Fluoride
    * Chlorine
    * Coffee/Tea/Carbonated Drinks
    * Synthetic vitamins
    * Radiation
    * Stress
    * Additives
    * Pesticides
    * Fertilisers

    The best way to prvent thrush is to regularlyl take a probiotic, the igher CFU’s (colony forming units) the better.

    * Get onto a probitoic as soon as you can – this will help the actual problem of a bacterial inbalance and will get to work right away. The good bacteria will begin to grow and out-number the bad bacteria.

    * Natural live yogurt contains a pro-biotic called acidophilus. However, the level of pro-biotics in yoghurt is quite low, so it can take a little more time to help, which can be frustrating especially if itching is a problem. You can eat the yoghurt as much as you like, some women swear by inserting some plain natural yoghurt into their vagina. You can soak a tampon in natural yoghurt, (differentiate just unsweetened from true natural yoghurt) and insert into the vagina for 2 hours, then change for new one.

    * A clove of garlic inserted into your vagina. This is very effective and works quickly. Find out all the details and how to’s here….http://www.midwiferytoday.com/articles/garlic.asp?a=1&r=1&e=1&q=garlic

    * Avoid underwear that is tight or contains materials like lycra and other fabric which reduces air circulation – cotton is best. Avoid underwear wherever possible – not a good idea though if you are going to work and wearking a skirt! Around the home and overnight is a good start.

    * Avoid tight jeans or trousers where possible – opt for skirts if you can.

    * Candida albicans thrive in moist, warm environments so try to avoid long, hot baths.

    * Good old Gentian Violet in an aqua or water Base is still extremely effective for vag thrush (just messy & ‘out there’ being bright purple) especially good for nipples & babies mouths as it is very liquid and soaks into all the crevices in the tissues which a gel like Daktarin cannot.

    * Douching isn’t recommended

    * Try avoiding yeast – lot of women swear that yeast in their diet increases the growth of candida. It’s often present in iron tonic supplements so check list of ingredients when taking these.

    * High levels of sugar in diets seems to be a very common culprit, look to amending the diet primarily.

    Basically the reason you have a yeast infection is because there’s an imbalance in your body. A healthy person has a balance between the yeast in their body and the good bacteria in their body.

    Too much yeast, you have a yeast infection. Too much bacteria, you have a bacterial infection.

    So, when you have a yeast infection you essentially have too much yeast in your body relative to the good bacteria. The natural way to treat it and bring back that balance is to starve the yeast and introduce more good bacteria into your body.

    Oh and BTW – That’s why you often get relief from using the over the counter meds temporarily, and then the yeast infection comes back. The creams aren’t changing the source of the problem. They are just killing the yeast they come in contact with, and not balancing the yeast/bacteria in your body and actually sometimes end up making things a lot worse.

    Oh BTW2 – That’s also why many times you’ll get a yeast infection after using antibiotics. Antibiotics kill all the bacteria in your body, the good and the bad. When that happens the balance between the yeast and good bacteria is off, and once again and you get a yeast infection.

    Things you can add to your diet (to help promote good bacteria) are live yogurt cultures (or take Acidophilus), plenty of water, fresh vegetables, lots of protein rich foods, whey protein, raw garlic, nuts, seeds, oils, millet, rice and oat brans

    Things you should remove from your diet (to starve the yeast) are all sodas, sugars, fruit, fermented foods, foods containing white flour, alcohol (especially beer), antacids and any product that has yeast or mold

    Changing your diet will definitely get you on the road to balancing the yeast and good bacteria, but what I would also recommend is to use a homeopathic solution to help naturally speed up the process.

    I always feel if there’s a natural way to do something, then it’s best to avoid the chemicals. I would look for an natural product, that can be taken orally to promote re-growth of the good bacteria in your body.

    There are a few out there, I think they are probably all pretty good. One that I have used and was very effective for me was is yeastrol.
    Best of Luck!

    Hope this helps and best of luck! :)
